PRISM, ILPS, and the NDFP are in the midst of the October Revolution Centennial Commemoration (ORCC) as a yearlong campaign. In this regard, we will hold a two-day Europe-wide People’s Conference on The Continuing Validity of the October Revolution, on 23 – 24 September 2017 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We wish to invite interested groups to contribute presentations or send a delegation to attend the conference.
Dear comrades and friends:
Warmest revolutionary greetings!
As all of us are increasingly aware of, 2017 marks the centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The founding of the first socialist state inspired the next generations of socialists, anti-imperialists and democrats, and entire working-class and liberation movements, here in Europe and elsewhere in the world, to lead the working class and the people in their respective countries in waging revolution and winning victories.
The basic conflicts in the world today remain as those that confronted the proletariat and the peoples of the world a century ago. In many aspects, the social problems inflicting us now are in fact worse than ever worldwide. The failure of the neoliberal project and the successions of economic and financial crises have generated various compelling critiques of capitalism and imperialism. The imperialist drumbeats of war continue to rumble across the world. Regional and proxy wars are intensifying, and fascist movements and state terrorism are on the rise.
Social discontent and mass struggles are intensifying across the world, and proletarian-led national liberation movements are persevering in several countries. There is renewed and growing public interest in socialism and in the Marxist-Leninist critique of capitalism and imperialism.
With the October Revolution Centennial coming into public focus, such conditions offer all socialist and anti-imperialist forces a great opportunity – and a daunting challenge as well – to redouble efforts in raising public awareness of the October Revolution’s continuing legacy and validity, and in raising the level of unity of the people against monopoly capitalism and for socialism.
In this light, the People’s Resource for International Solidarity and Mass Mobilization (PRISMM), the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines have agreed to co-organize a yearlong campaign, the October Revolution centennial commemoration (ORCC).
In Europe, we seek cooperation and coordination in this effort with various Marxist-Leninist, socialist, national liberation, and anti-imperialist movements and organizations. We are thus preparing to hold a two-day Europe-wide People’s Conference on The Continuing Validity of the October Revolution, on 23 – 24 September 2017 in the Netherlands, at the De Burtzaak in Amsterdam.
In this regard, we wish to invite you to contribute presentations or send a delegation to attend the conference. The working draft of the Conference Program is posted elsewhere on this site for your reference and guidance.
We also request you to help in this effort by relaying this invitation to other organizations and individuals whom you think will respond positively to our call. For further inquiries and follow up communications, you can contact us through the following:
