RENEWED CALL FOR PAPERS ON OCTOBER REVOLUTION CENTENNIAL

24 April 2017

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) and the People’s Resource for International Solidarity and Mass Mobilization (PRISM) are renewing their call for papers in commemoration of the centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

We give the highest priority on papers by parties, pre-party groups, and mass organizations (or by their leaders and representatives) that share summed-up practical experiences and contributions to revolutionary theory based on their collective practice and inspired by the same basic principles that guided the October Revolution and the continuing socialist cause.

We will also give ample space to other types of papers (scholarly or research papers, policy papers, educational discussion guides) and multimedia pieces (slideshow presentations with narrative text, video documentaries, photo-essays and the like) produced by individuals and small groups, which highlight particular historical events or some major aspect of the socialist revolution or of mass movements inspired by the October Revolution.

The general deadline for paper submissions is 31 July 2017. We will appreciate submissions of the paper’s abstract or title with detailed outline by 15 May 2017. A wide selection of the presentations and the proceedings from the ORCC-organized events will be published as a book by end-2017. We will also consider including for publication other relevant papers that may be submitted before the general deadline.

Our renewed call for papers is in the broader context of calling on all Marxist-Leninist and other progressive forces to organize, co-organize, and coordinate all kinds of centennial activities in relevant and popular ways under the common global theme: “Let us celebrate the historic gains and continuing validity of the Great October Socialist Revolution for the proletariat and people. Let us draw and share lessons from its revisionist reversal, continue its legacy, persevere in leading the masses, and advance the struggle for democracy and socialism against imperialism and all reaction!”

All interested groups and individuals may submit copies of their papers, abstracts or preliminary titles and detailed outlines, and/or related works to the PRISM-ILPS ORCC Organizing Committee ([email protected]) for possible inclusion in our centenary publication and towards wider dissemination, or forward their additional inquiries to the same. ###
